I should imagine if I was to add up all the time I’ve spent in Churches in my life it would be easier to count in months than days. For me, there is a sense of serenity in churches; they are not just places for people to pray.
Many Churches are full of beautiful architecture, stunning colours, and full of history, and in some ways it’s these sometimes seemingly imposing structures that allow for the church to feel so full, and so empty at the same time. Silence in a church is for so many simultaneously haunting and beautiful.
