Programme Note
Three Postcards explores the relationship between the traditional Korean instruments – Haegeum and Gayageum – and the violin. Each postcard explores similar musical material but with a different instrument acting as the primary voice in each section.
Composed as part of Seoul National University College of Music’s ‘The Orient Express’ project organised in collaboration with Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and Curtis Institute.
